How to Help Americorps

What is AmeriCorps?
AmeriCorps is a National Service Program that engages community members like you in service throughout the nation. Our local KCR AmeriCorps program supports a myriad of community organizations throughout Kitsap County. Program members work full-time in a community host site, working in one of the service capacities listed below.

If you have a passion for serving our community and a strong desire to address unmet needs, this could be the program for you. You will gain experience in education, human services, disaster preparedness, and grow personally as well. You can explore your interests, make new and long lasting friendships and network community wide.

The KCR/AmeriCorps program is not accepting applications at this time.

The program typically opens up for applications one time a year only in July or August. Individuals hired at that time start service in the program in October and must commit to serving in the program through the end of August. When the program does open for applications, all materials will be posted on this website. Please check back in July/August.

Other Ways To Get Involved . . .

The KCR AmeriCorps program performs monthly Kitsap County service projects.  These projects include various community outreach efforts, including restoring local parks, coordinating community needs drives, assisting with the annual Christmas Angel program among many other community service efforts.

Community volunteers are always needed to help with these monthly projects and are an excellent way to familarize yourself with the AmeriCorps mission.  For more information on volunteering, contact AmeriCorps Director, Jennifer Allik at 360-473-2015 or by email at jallik@kcr.org.
