Head Start Students to Benefit from Urban Garden
Volunteers and KCR staff are joining together to build the Hungry Caterpillar Garden, which will allow Head Start
children and families to enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables. Students will also learn about the ins-and-outs of gardening, tasty recipes, and the nutritional benefits of eating fresh produce.
The variety of garden produce will range from strawberries and watermelons to leeks and parsley. Plans for a pear tree and plum tree are also in the works.
To donate compost, top soil, or other garden items, please contact Lisa Tindall at 360-473-2090.
