Parenting and Beyond I
The first year of an infant’s life is an important time for everyone in the family. This class is designed as an interactive with the infant and parent together in attendance. It will help decrease the levels of isolation and frustration felt by new parents during this time, while enhancing their self image and increasing their confidence in their ability to successfully parent. Topics include child development, feeding and nutrition, child safety, establishing attachment, recognizing cues, soothing techniques, and health & safety. Ages Birth to 1 ½ years.

Parenting and Beyond II
The second and third years of a child’s life are such important developmental times. This class is designed as an interactive with the toddler and parent together in attendance. It will enhance parenting self-image and increase their confidence and competence in parenting this unique-aged and able child. Topics include child development, stages, nutrition and health, language development, communication and positive discipline strategies. Ages 1½ to 3 years.

Parenting Elementary Age Children
This nationally acclaimed course uses the STEP curriculum. It teaches techniques to guide children with compassion and respect, shows how to encourage responsibility and self-motivation, and provides tools to give children the courage to make healthy choices.

Parenting Teens
This class gives parents an understanding of the adolescent development stages and provides the tools they need to guide teens through these challenging years. This is from STEP curriculum.

Parenting Young Children
This class teaches parents of toddlers and preschoolers the skills they need to successfully nurture creativity, self-confidence, cooperation and social skills during this critical developmental period. Two hours each week for 8 weeks

Parenting in Recovery
For parents who are recovering from alcohol and/or drug abuse. This class offers insights into a child’s perspective of their parent. It helps the parent to learn positive parenting skills, how to have honest communication and help in rebuilding the parent/child relationship. Two hours each week for 8 weeks

The Challenging Child
Ever wonder how you are going to make it with your little dynamo? This class helps parents acquire the awareness and skills to raise challenging children. Challenging children are more of everything; more intense, more persistent, more sensitive, more perceptive and more uncomfortable with change than other children. Two Hours each week for 8 weeks

Strengthening Families
Strengthening Families is a course for parents and youth 10-14 years of age. Each week the program starts with dinner for the whole family. Families have access to free childcare for any children that are not participating in the program. The youth and parents have individualized classes for the first hour and work together as a family for the second hour. Each of the eight weeks is 2.5 hours long. Free childcare and dinner are offered each week. This class is held 4 times per year. Please call our office for more information on the location and dates of the next Strengthening Families class.

Take Time Workshops
Take Time is built on the belief that you don’t have to be a bad parent to be a better one. All parents benefit from information and discussion. All families build on their strengths. Take Time Workshops provide the tips, tools and confidence that can make parenting easier and more enjoyable. Take one or take all eight! Two Hours each week for 4 weeks

Becoming a Love and Logic Parent
Do you want to raise kids who are self-confident, motivated, and ready for the real world? Take advantage of this win-win approach to parenting. Your kids will win because they will learn responsibility and the logic of life by solving their own problems. You will win because you will establish healthy control - without resorting to anger, threats, and nagging or exhausting power struggles. Parent with Love & Logic puts the fun back into parenting! Two Hours each week for 7 weeks

Helping Children Who Witness Domestic Violence: A Guide for Victims
'This 12 week class is designed to understand the effects that domestic violence has on children, to learn ways to understand how domestic violence affects everyone involved, learn and practice new problem-solving techniques with children, learn how to find support and counseling for you and your children. THERE IS ALSO A PARENTING CLASS FOR OFFENDERS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. Two Hours each week for 12 weeks
